INK DRAWINGS

A number of rather big ink drawings has been created since 2008, the year of Pé’s pregnancy. Having been executed with a thick brush, they do not strive for a clear, distinct line, as in Pé’s small-format drawings. The frontier between abstraction and figuration is of no importance here. Beings (sometimes children), entities, energies, merge together. There are no superfluous lines, no excesses of representation. These works reveal –although unintentionally– the same spirit as in Eastern Zen brush drawings, aiming at presenting (not : re-presenting) a ‘deep sensing/awareness’ in the here-and-now, recognizing the value of the ephemeral, and expressed with scanty means. As such, they are close to Pé’s performing spirit : each move as a flashing aesthetics of full experience.
